SharakeHTech “Partnership for New IT Horizon—Building the Capacity of the Palestinian ICT Sector and Expanding Cross-Border Business” is intended to promote peacebuilding and cooperation through economic prosperity through a comprehensive capacity building, matchmaking, and internship program.
Together, the activities of this action will prepare Palestinian and Israeli ICT companies to do business with one another through the provision of technical skills and a change in mindsets.
The program, founded by the European Union, assists the Palestinian ICT sector in penetrating the Israeli market and creating new jobs, thereby helping to lay the necessary economic foundations for peace. The overall objective of the action is to strengthen innovation within the Palestinian economy by building the capacity of the Palestinian ICT sector, and by creating business opportunities with the hi-tech sector in Israel, leveraging the latter’s experience and knowledge of best practices in the field. Specifically, the action seeks to (a) provide the tools needed by Palestinian ICT companies to expand their businesses, scale-up, and become competitive, (b) enable Palestinian ICT companies and entrepreneurs to reach Israeli, European, and global markets, and (c) provide an effective matchmaking platform to create meaningful business opportunities between Palestinian and Israeli ICT companies.
SharakeHTech is primarily divided into a training program and an internship and matchmaking component. The training is led by PosiTeam a consulting and training company which offers programs for individuals and all managerial levels in organizations with the goal to strengthen and ease the way people interact and operate in their work and life environment. The matchmaking and internship is led by The Peres Center for Peace and Innovation which focuses on development and implementation of impactful and meaningful programs with a focus on promoting a prosperous Israel, nurturing and highlighting Israeli innovation, and paving the way for shared-living between all of Israel’s citizens and lasting peace between Israel and its neighbors.
